Wondering

I am a little discouraged today. I still feel like I am on a plateau. I have been on the program for 11 weeks - and for the past few weeks I feel like I am going no where. I am still down the sizes - but it feels like I am stuck. How long do these last? Does everyone eat meat until they are full? Or do you watch your portions? I know we can have meatballs, are the frozen ones from the store ok? or should I be making my own? I know I need to watch the veggie meat ratio, does it really impact the program that much? and if and when I have eaten more veggies it isn't a huge amount past. bite for bite works sometimes, but not in all situations.

Today I will be only eating meat, no veggies. Also, no added fats whatsoever, though I hardly use fats anyway.

Not hungry so I won't be eating breakfast. Do you eat breakfast or do you just eat when you are hungry? What is a typical day of food and eating for you?

I will be calling to make an appointment today and see when they can get me in. I just feel like I must be doing something wrong to be stuck for so long?

I need suggestions. I haven't strayed off program at all and don't want to!!!

  1. I buy Johnsonville sausage. I've been buying the patties, because they tuck nicely under an egg. I've also added hollandaise sauce on top and that's a real treat on weekends. I tused a package mix (McCormick brand), which mixes up quickly on top of the stove. Be sure to add lots of fresh lemon juice and if you reheat it for a second or third serving another day - add more lemon juice each time. Yummy. This also makes a great dinner, served with spinach. I've done this and had 3 sausages and 3 eggs. I haven't tried canned sauces or to make the sauce from scratch. If you do and find something good - please pass it along.

Yes, the meat to veggie portion in very important. Try to think back to what you ate your first few weeks and repeat those meals. We are allowed fats, so I wouldn't be in such a rush to eliminate them, but cutting back is good.

It's good that you're going back in to see Julie. List a few thing you need help from her, so you have it fresh in mind before you go in, as well as successes you've had.

I too have felt like I've been on a plateau for too long. I'm going to buy a tape measure after work today and take my measurements. This is another way for us to measure our success. I haven't done measurements correctly' a metal tape measure doesn't exactly go around one's body very well.

I'll blog about my typical day of food when I get a chance.

Are you exercising at all? I felt a plateau a few months ago and that's when I added exercise. Start small, walk 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back or find something you can start this week. For me, I have so much weight to lose that at some point I needed to start exercising or this process will take a really long time (Julie's words). I started in October, 9 months after starting the program, because that's when I felt the time had come. Two months later I did the 5K. A year ago, I would not have believed I could train for 2 months and then run a 3 mile race and in 45 minutes.

One last thought - remember cheese is to be used like a condiment. I have problems with cheese and it's one of the areas I'll ask for help with from Julie. I didn't buy cheese this week.
