You bend at the waist to gather more of the pantyhose. You pull, tug, twist, bend, groan, jump, jiggle and whatever else you have to do to get those dumb things on.
I was so out of breath getting those dumb things on. And I certainly didn’t want my dear husband to witness my pantyhose jiggle!
So I started wearing knee highs. Oh dear! To me that is such an old lady thing to do, but I could not deal with the pantyhose dance.
Instead, here's what I would do: I would buy control top pantyhose, cut the legs off and wear the pantie part with the knee highs. Not a pretty picture at all!
Last week, I realized my new church skirt needed pantyhose and not knee highs, as there was a small slit on the side that would look hideous with knee highs under them.
I bit the bullet and went to buy pantyhose.
Immediately I wondered What size do I get? I had no clue. The size charts all go by your weight and I don’t know how much I weighed! So, I did the best I could and some old habits do not die quickly, I got control top.
I got home and pulled them out of the package.
WOW--they look so small!
Oh dear, will I get them on?
I didn’t want to do the secret dance, but I had to wear them with my skirt! So I started...
Feet OK.The next thing I knew, I had them up and on--and I wasn’t out of breath!
Calves OK.
Thighs OK.
OK? Wow!
Hips and belly, oh my--they went on without too much dancing.
I didn’t have to dance to get my pantyhose on! This time I didn't have to be a contortionist!
Wow, oh wow--this program is really working for me in more ways than I knew!
Pantyhose, who in the world invented them?
Well at least now I know: I can wear these dumb things and they fit me right!
Another non-scale victory for me! LOL!
I am familiar with this dance... Glaf for you that you are past that.
ReplyDeleteI am reading all of these successes and wondering if anyone stumbled along the way, but got themselves back on track.
Is it all over if you slip up?
I think it may depend if you intentionally eat something that you know you aren't supposed to. Way back in the beginning I ate some stuff I thought I could. I went to a refresher just to make sure I was doing it right and found out I wasn't. I am glad I went as I would have continued. Julie has said in many refreshers if you continue to not give her your free will, eventually she can not help. So in my humble opinion, if you intentionally eat something, you will need help. If you accidentally eat something, maybe an added ingredient you didn't know about but found out about, continue on.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else, correct me please if I have this wrong!
I agree with Linda. Hypnosis is different from dieting; do a little research on breaking the hypnotic state and you will learn that the "key" is free will. If you "made a decision" to eat something other than protein & veggies, you took back your free will. Do yourself a favor & schedule a refresher, be honest with Julie & recommit to yourself. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou will get all sorts of answers for this question. There are people who say they can "get back on" all by themselves, without intervention from Julie, and on down the road they beebop. But, then later on it seems as though that "slip" starts to cause a downward spiral. Others seem to do fine, at least for the moment. I think it's best to try and understand why the "slip-up" occurred and try to find a way to not have it happen again. It isn't a good idea to let the "Army Men" out, because they have a way of starting "the war" all over again. I hope you choose not to "slip up" and follow Julie's simple, but VERY effective plan-If you truly do "slip up", then I would schedule a refresher. Julie wants you to succeed, and she is there to help you. She wants you to be victorious in your fight against food! She doesn't want you to fail! She is very committed to helping you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thoughtful response. I think the slip up had spiraled a little, but I let it go without thinking. Convinced myself that I am sticking to it enough and still losing weight (which I am) so how bad can it be. I talked myself out of some of the principles of the program. I feel like I AM re-comitted to it now. It is easier to just stick wiht it, less mind twisitng about what may be OK. The black and white of it is better. I am back. I am going back to week one, no Siggi's. No cheating. Maybe I failed the test but if I can go another three months without cheating , then perhaps I am back on track. If I find that I slip again maybe I will need another visit to Springfield. I would just love to hear from someone who HAS gotten back on track on their own to know that it has been done. I will be really carful not to let emotional stress eating side track.
Deletekeep it up all. You are inspirational.
It also depends on what you slipped with. If it is sugar, that is a whole other story. At my last refresher a month ago Julie stated that if you knowingly eat sugar, it doesn’t matter what you do, you will gain it all back without having gone through the cycle of maintenance and locking in the new high and low numbers. She stressed, “you will be back” for help. Sugar is the danger. If you ate to much cheese, or yogurt, it is easy to start eating clean again, or if you have done to many condiments, start eating clean again: meat and veggies.
DeleteSugar tells your body how much you have lost and she said people think they can do it on their own, but she said, they end up back there. And if you do it a lot, she can’t help after a while! She said it may be 1 week, a few months or 10 years, if you don’t go through the cycle she sets for us, she stressed you have doomed yourself.
Sorry if this doesn’t help what you want to hear. This is what Julie has said.
