Linda

Today's hero story is from Linda. Linda sees changes in her weight in her clothing size and in her ring size too. Life has been challenging recently for Linda, but she is determined to continue the program. Here's her story...
Nov. 2012 (left) May 2013 (right)
Started program: Oct. 2012
Starting size: 24 pants and 2x top
Current size: 16/18

I finished hypnosis on Nov. 28 2012. I started at size 24 pants and 2x top. Rather quickly my face got smaller and then my tummy. I put on my jeans thinking they were 24, but discovered it was my size 22 jeans! They fit for awhile and then my butt must have gotten smaller as well as my tummy again...because my jeans were so loose they were grazing the tops of my shoes. Now they slide down so far on my hips that I can't wear them.
Oct. 2012
Then my thighs got narrow and my ring became so loose I had to get a tightener. I went from size 8 ring to size 7! That is the ring size I had when 14 yrs old!
Nov. 2012
People started to notice and the compliments started coming. Digging in closet for the smaller sizes is a lot of fun. I began to feel better about myself and to clean and organize my much neglected house.
May 2012
Often hard to accept this success. But I cannot deny the facts. My hubbie is always telling me I look so different and that I am getting skinny. Friends have been inspired from my success enough to check out Julie for themselves.

I started at 24 and now I can wear 20's and some XL's, which the Internet tells me is a 16/18!!! My goal is size 14, but maybe now I'll shoot for size 12. I'm 5'9" and hope to get back to 140 or even 130 pounds; I started at about 260. Of course I don't know what I weigh now.

I love to cook, so trying Julie recipes and others is fun. Just wish it did not take so long.

  1. Congratulations Linda on your success. Don't worry about how long it takes to reach your goal size. I say this and I know I too get caught up in that.

Sometimes I look down at my belly and wonder when is it going to go away? But I looking again and I see how big my pants are around the thighs and I realize I am losing weight, it just isn't coming off in the places I want it to come off. It all takes time and it isn't going to happen on our time schedule.

Julie says "once and done" - do this one time and never have to do it again. I like how that sounds and that is what I focus on.

    Keep up your success.

    1. Hi Theresa...thx for adding my story. Seeing it here has helped to remotivate me (had been eating cookies due to recent stressors)....your empathy and personal struggle is helpful too. :)
Been eating lots more fish...tilapia and cod loin and smoked salmon ( wrapped around fresh dill frond with capers and tiny dab lofat sour cream). Try tilapia baked at 450 for 12 mins with small oil in pan and cover top with garam masala...go online for this awesome and complexly flavorful combo of spices you mix. If people are interested I will publish recipe here.

  2. Does anyone recall the reasoning for throwing out condiments after 1 month. I think it had to do with the preservatives, but what did they do to us? Also, is anyone keeping them longer than 1 month and still losing weight?

    1. Julie told my group that preservatives also preserve our fat....she did not tell us to toss our spices...at least I dont recall that. And yes I am still losing while eating spices older than 30 days.

  3. The reason for tossing condiments out after 30 days is because they begin to break down after 30 days. The lids have preservatives and chemicals that begin to do not so nice things to the ingredients.

I buy smaller sizes and I usually use them up before the time is up.

I don't know that keeping them longer has any effect on weight loss. I believe it has more to do with the quality of the condiments than weight loss.

  4. Linda you are doing GREAT!! Keep up the good work!!!

It will happen, be patient!!! I am the worlds slowest looser but it is coming off!!

Think of where you were last year at this time and where you are today!! Now think of where you were last year and where you could be today if you didn't stick with Julie's program.

I, personally, would be bed ridden and one of those people they need a crane to take out of the house. I was gaining weight faster than a freight train on the loose.

For me, to keep me strong when I get frustrated with how long it is taking me, I remember where I came from and what my future held if I had not begun this program!!!

Keep us posted with your progress!!! You look GREAT!!!!

    1. Thank you fellow-Linda for your optimism and encouragement...it means a lot. It is often easy to deny that the wt loss is happenning..."jeans must have stretched"...etc etc. My mind wont always let me acknowledge this is real. Feedback from others is critical "reality testing" for me. Funny..when I was heavier I did not realize how big I was (denial). I will stay in the river as long as it takes...

  5. Thanks for the reminder - I created a new grilled chicken recipe because of you!

After I replied, I opened the refrigerator and saw a few bottles of sauces I could use on the chicken I was going to grill. Oh my - they are too old!

I opened my cupboards and found an unopened jar of enchilada sauce and after the chicken was done cooking, I rolled each one in that sauce and it was delicious.

    Yummy!

  6. Linda, Your story is great! Keep up the good work! Just an FYI...next time use full fat sour cream. Julie doesn't want us using anything fat free...
