Time to share

Hi everyone.  I went to Julie in Jan 2012 and it has changed my life SO much.  I LOVE reading everyone's stories and find them encouraging and now it's time to share mine.

Like Linda mentioned in her last post, I too have tried everything under the sun including weight loss surgery over 10 years ago.  I had heard about this program and thought about it A LOT and decided to just call and get on the list.  I was extremely overweight and always worried about fitting in seats with armrests and was happy when I went to the sessions that they had chairs without arms.  By the time I went to my 1st refresher in March I didn't have to ask for the chairs to be changed and it felt GOOD!  I've gone down 5-6 sizes on bottom and about 4 on top, depending on style.  My shopping experience is VERY different now than it used to be.

I would say the biggest challenge has been in the Dr's office, not looking at the scale but that they write it down and leave it on the counter while they take my vitals, so at the 2 appts I've seen my weight.  I don't fret about it but the next time I'll ask they don't put it somewhere I can't see it.

This program has changed me in many ways.  One is that I got my 1st tattoo in Sept, I was always VERY afraid of needles and one day called, made the appt and went.  I say 1st because I just got another one with Compromise - Sacrifice - Example...that's how much this has changed me.

I've added a before & after picture (Xmas 2011 & Xmas 2012) and one of my tattoo.  I have to find some of full view to post later.
Thanks
Lynn

Hi Everyone! I have my first appointment on the 22nd... I'm so excited, but I'm worried about the stipulation that I need letters from my doctors to do this. Not because they won't say it's okay - but because just getting appointments can be so tough. Are the doctors letters really necessary? I'm going to make appointments to try to get the letters tomorrow AM, but I don't want ANYTHING to stand between me and a healthy future. I'm welling up with tears just reading all the stories in here. Thank you so much for sharing your journeys. I hope I get to join you soon. :)

I don't know if things have changed, but I started in Jan. 2012 and I do recall that something was mentioned by one of the participants in our group that her doctor had recommended it. Also, I think that if you are diabetic you may need something from your doctor, but what I find strange is that they never mentioned anything about my health when I joined. There was never any mention of whether I had diabetes or not. I was just told time and place and where not to park. This is just my experience and maybe things have changed now. I know that we did had to sign some kind of disclaimer stating that we should consult our doctors with any problems, but nothing was asked of me up front. If you have a concern, you should try calling the office. I understand it's sometimes hard to get thru to them, but keep trying because I know the wait is so long to get to see Julie that you certainly don't want to show up and be turned away for not having some paperwork if indeed that is now required.

  4. Anonymous, welcome to the wonderful world of Julie! Did the office say you needed a doctors letter? I never had to do that, is it something new? Anyone else hear of this?

You are in for an amazing experience with unbelievable results! Stay true to what Julie tells you & you will have a life changing journey.

    Enjoy the ride!

  5. I have been with Julie since June 2011, and I too have not heard about "needing doctor's letters". When I went to a refresher, they had my email address. Before the refresher, I got a confirmation email, stating things that had changed, such as "no more personal checks are allowed, only cash/debit/credit" Also, when to be there, and what we were allowed to wear into her room (no bracelets, no watches, no coats). These are things that were not specified when I called and signed up for the refresher; they were only stated in that email. So, you have 2 choices: 1. Make sure they have your email, and when you get a "confirmation email", read it from top to bottom, or 2' Contact their office and when they call you back, make sure that you hear for sure what they are looking for. With other issues that Julie has had (long story) I am not surprised that she may want the go-ahead from your doctor, especially if you have other health issues (ANY weight loss program has this disclaimer).....She is only looking out for your best interest.

One other thing-if you do indeed need a letter, I would make sure that you have exactly what it is she is looking for-the office should be able to provide you with what you need. Do they have a form letter to download and have signed? I would just make sure you get what you need.

In my eyes, this would not keep me from seeing Julie-I would jump through hoops backwards while singing the Star Bangled Banner if I needed!

Hope this helps-I know it will all be worth it! I am so a believer of Julie and her program!

As Chris said, enjoy the ride!!!!
